Learning to See Photographically

A practical, hands-on approach to expressing yourself through digital photography.

Classes meet at our home studio in Aptos.

Cost: $250.00 per eight-hour class*; or $35 per hour as needed.

Materials fee: $25.00

Minimum age 12 years old and up.

Maximum two students per class.

*The class meets for two to five sessions, depending on the student's schedule.

Course Description:

The class will introduce students to basic technical aspects of camera functions: Exposure, pre-visualization, composition, editing, presentation, portfolio and critiques with particular emphasis on how to see photographically.

We can also cover file management and an intro to Photoshop, based on the student's needs and interest.

Equipment Requirements:

Student must bring to every class a digital camera with flash card, a charger or extra batteries, transfer cable or card reader (to put the images on a laptop), and the camera's operating manual.

Students may bring their own laptop, however we will have one available to download and review the students images.
